Understanding Dice Probability
For a standard D6, every number (1–6) has an equal 16.67% chance of appearing. When you roll multiple dice, the probability distribution shifts — rolling two D6s makes 7 the most likely total (6 ways to make 7 out of 36 combinations), which is why 7 matters so much in games like craps. For a D20, each face has a 5% probability, making critical hits in D&D a genuinely rare event.
Is this dice roller truly random?
Yes. Results are generated using Math.random(), which uses a cryptographically seeded pseudo-random number generator built into your browser. Each die roll is completely independent of every previous roll.
Can I roll different dice types at the same time?
Currently this tool rolls multiple dice of the same type in one go — for example, 3×D6 or 2×D20. For mixed dice rolls (e.g. 1D6 + 1D20), simply roll each set separately and add the results.
What dice types are available?
D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, and D20. The D6 is your standard six-sided die used in most board games and casino games. The D20 is the iconic tabletop RPG die. D4, D8, D10, and D12 are common in Dungeons & Dragons and other tabletop games.
Does it save my roll history?
Roll history is saved for your current session only. Refreshing the page or closing the browser will clear the history. This is by design to protect your privacy — no data is sent to any server.
